Lab Introduction

The China University of Geosciences (Beijing) isotope geochemistry laboratory construction was completed  at the end of 2011. It currently has one general chemical laboratory, three ultra-clean (1000-level) laboratories, and two Thermo-Fisher Neptune Plus MC-ICP MS, one Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS), two high-resolution mass spectrometers (Element XR). There are 10 faculties  in the laboratory (Shu-Guang Li, Jian-Ming Zhu, Yongsheng He, Sheng-Ao Liu, Jingao Liu, Shui-Jiong Wang, Ying-Huai Lu, Shan Ke, Li-Juan Xu, Dan-Dan Li), including five professors, two associate professors/ associate researchers, one lecturer, two  assistant researchers, and more than 50 graduate students.

Since the establishment of the laboratory, high-precision analysis methods for isotopes such as Mg, Ca, Fe, Cu, Zn, Cd, Cr, Hf, Sr, Nd, Pb have been established, and a wide range of applied research has been carried out, and a series of important results have been achieved. Related papers have been published in internationally renowned geoscience journals such as Geology, GCA, EPSL, CG, JAAS and GGR. The goal of the laboratory is to build an internationally renowned isotope geochemistry laboratory featuring non-traditional stable isotope analysis and applied research, taking into account the traditional isotope (Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf-Os) analysis and applied research. In terms of student training, we have established a comprehensive postgraduate course system for isotope geochemistry talents, and strive to make China University of Geosciences (Beijing) one of the important bases for the cultivation of isotope talents in China.
